There were several parts to our ECO lesson on Tuesday. The first station was a group challenge. Each student read a line from the book I Am An Artist which led us to our second station called the Nature Art Station. Liza showed pictures from Andy Goldsworthy to help inspire nature art. The classes used materials from the Nasmith Brook to create their artwork. During this time students were also able to explore the river's ecosystem (we found some crayfish!) The third station was a River Current Experiment. The groups noticed which section of the river moved the fastest and then implemented an experiment to prove their observation. Ask your child about the experiment we conducted and how we determined where the current moved the fastest. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time exploring nature during ECO! :)
